Some Random Thoughts…

Thanks for the welcome voxland!

I live in hicktown USA i.e. a small farming town in PA,  here you are either a conservative christian or a redneck (unlike TN where you can be both)  In the conservative christian catagory half are mennonite and amish and the other half are PCA or methodist with a few catholics and brethren and church of God churches thrown into the mix.

I had been going to the PCA church because a few friends go there and I appreciate people who use logic, even though I may disagree with their conclusions their arguments are sound.  It’s a safe friendly church (if you follow all the rules that is).

I just got married and my wife and I are both looking for a better church, one that challenges us, has good people and does basic outreach in the community, like love people where they are at and don’t frown if they have a nosering.

So we found this small charismatic church, good people, non-uptight, almost decent preaching, helps the community, but lacks in common sense, logic and critical thinking.

Hence my dilema, I like half of one church and half of the other, but have never seen a church with both.   I heard it said once about the verse, “everything should be done decently and in order”  the presbys are in order and the charsismys do everything.

Right now we have decided to attend the charismatic church to try it out for a month and see how that goes.  But i’m still wishing/hoping for the ideal church that I could go to and make it less ideal :-)

Those are my rambling thoughts for today, the post was a bit longish but if you read this far what do YOU think about my dilema?

Hi,

I’m here now,  I found out about Voxtropolis via Alexmacmanus.org

His site was intruiging, especially the mystic stuff.

A bit about me…

I am a blogger, I am a follower of Christ though I am more open minded than anyone I meet at church.  I am quite interested in the mystical, supernatural, miracles, signs and wonders etc.  The problem is I have also been called too logical (though I don’t consider this to be a bad thing :-)  So I guess you could call me a 5 point calvinist with the desire of a radical charismatic/buhddist.

Anyway that serves as my intoduction I guess.

Come back and check out my progress and ruminations on the journey towards something more.
